Life Skills Support

Developing practical independence and daily living skills in a supportive, person-centred way.

What Is Life Skills Support?

Life skills support helps disabled people develop practical abilities needed for daily independence. We work at each person's own pace, respecting their goals and focusing on skills that matter to them.

Support is individualised and flexible. We focus not just on skill development, but on building confidence and enabling real independence where possible.

How We Teach Life Skills

  • Individualised Approach: Teaching focuses on the specific skills each person wants to develop, at their pace
  • Practical Learning: Real-world practice in genuine contexts (not simulation), with support and scaffolding
  • Confidence Building: Celebrating successes and supporting people to believe in their capabilities
  • Flexibility & Adaptation: Adjusting approaches based on learning style, needs and preferences
  • Partnership with Families: Working with families to support learning at home and reinforce skills

Important: This is non-regulated support. We focus on practical skill development, not clinical therapy. We work in partnership with families and professionals.
